The Boston-based alternative pop band Buttercup comprised singer/guitarist Jim Buni, guitarist Mark Leahy, pedal steel player Tim Obetz, bassist Colleen MacDonald and drummer Dan Lech. After signing to the tiny Spirit of Orr label, Buttercup debuted with 1996's Gold; their follow-up, Love, appeared the following year and Terminal E was issued in fall 2000.
